In place for staff is a full induction and training programme in Health & Safety awareness which includes first aid and fire safety training both in the office and on site. Each employee receives a copy of the Health & Safety law booklet issued by the Health & Safety Executive.
Fire officers and first aid specialists are appointed and all details are posted on site. A copy of our written company Health & Safety Policy is given to all staff to instantly refer to.
All tasks carry a method statement and risk assessment relating to the specific job. All sites are provided with safety data sheets and company COSHH sheets relating to all materials used with a full assessment and colour coding is strictly adhered to.
Cresswell is certified ISO 14001:2004 which gives our assurance to legislative compliance and by recording information on the operation of our EMS, demonstrates continual improvement.
Regular and vigorous independent assessments ensure our Environmental Management System continues to meet the requirements of the standard.
As a sustainable business we pledge to reduce our environmental impact and encourage employees, customers, suppliers and business associates to be the same.
We have an established environmental strategy which supports our commitment to reduce, reuse and recycle. Duty of Care documentation is held at head office with a copy forwarded to each client concerned for their records.
Where possible we source Ecover environmentally sensitive cleaning agents to use at all sites and washrooms and work in partnership with First Mile Ltd to provide all waste removal and recycling services to clients.
Cresswell has signed up to the Mayor’s Green Procurement Code supported by £3 million from the London Development Agency and delivered by London Remade to help embed green purchasing into all aspects of the organisation
Cresswell is committed to supporting the local community and encourages staff to become involved in fund raising projects and charity events.
The Managing Director actively takes part in running events and has raised valuable funding for Trees for Cities in London through www.tree-athlon.co.uk
Being involved in local schools projects, staff organise fundays, themed evenings and raffles to raise valuable funds.
The local community is important to us. Successful and sustainable employment can only be achieved by working jointly with partner organisations such as the local JobCentre and securing their support in the local market. Cresswell has worked with local papers to advertise for staff and used the local JobCentre, not only for the recruiting process but also at its premises to conduct local interviews.
